Atomhawk 2019 Art competition - Solarpunk

This is my entry for the Atomhawk art contest of this year. The theme was solarpunk, i was very short in time to enter this competition, but it was super fun! i think i would love to explore this theme more, because it's a bit out of my comfort zone.
I imagined a society that lives off renewable energy and at the same time strives to preserve the architectural landscape, seamlessly blending new with old. Wanting to depict a scene set in Southern Italy, I conceived dwellings self-sufficient from both an energetic and an agricultural standpoint, built as greenhouses resembling Sicily’s traditional terracing. Powered by sun and wind energy, these houses are irrigated through desalination plants extracting salt from seawater, which has partially submerged the original village.
